Inspired by Jim Fusilli's acclaimed mystery A Song for Katy Shayne, the project transforms fictional songs embedded within the book into a fully realized musical experience. What started as words on a page became something far more ambitious: an album imagined as the long-lost recordings of a singer-songwriter whose story unfolds somewhere between memory, myth, and reality.

Bringing those songs to life required artists capable of inhabiting that world completely.

Enter Suzanna Spring and the Black Canyon City Band.

Known for her work with Mustangs of the West, Spring possesses a voice that combines warmth, vulnerability, and quiet authority. Her performances allow listeners to believe not only in the songs themselves, but in the fictional artist who supposedly created them.

Supported by the Black Canyon City Band and guided by producers Kirk Pasich and Colin Devlin, the recordings blur the boundaries between literature and music.
