After three decades helping define the sound of Ozomatli, Raúl Pacheco decided to introduce himself again.

Man Boy Brown, Pacheco’s solo musical identity, offers a different perspective from the community-driven activism and multicultural celebration that have long characterized his work with the Grammy-winning Los Angeles institution. The project turns inward, exploring reflection, romance, aging, independence, and personal growth through a collection of deeply personal songs.

The name itself captures a central tension running throughout the music: the challenge of growing older without losing curiosity, wonder, or playfulness. Pacheco embraces that contradiction rather than trying to resolve it. The result feels honest, self-aware, and refreshingly human.
