For two decades, Rose’s Pawn Shop have evolved their distinctive blend of bluegrass-inspired folk, country storytelling, and rock & roll energy — a sound that’s taken them from L.A. clubs to stages across the country. With American Seams, the band captures that wide-ranging spirit in its purest form yet, recording live in the studio under the direction of Grammy-nominated producer Eric Corne.

The creation of 'American Seams' in many ways felt like a throwback to the early days of Rose’s Pawn Shop,”says frontman Paul Givant. “We started with raw bluegrass-inspired folk songs, and along with the guidance of incredible producer Eric Corne, we worked the songs into fully formed Americana folk-rock bangers with incredible musicians live in the studio. The end result is music that has some of the distinct early Rose’s Pawn Shop sound of fiddle, guitar, banjo-driven melodic Americana, but with songs that are most definitely of this moment and stage of life.

“The Summer’s Over” embodies that evolution — a bittersweet, harmony-rich track that feels both intimate and cinematic. With its intertwining guitar and banjo lines, steady pulse, and layered vocals, the song reflects on closing chapters and the fleeting nature of youth.
The bandmates stack their voices into thick harmonies during every chorus, singing about the passage of time and the fading of an earlier stage of life, pairing heartfelt lyricism with the band’s trademark roots-rock energy.

Recorded at Love Street Sound, the Los Angeles studio owned by The Doors’ Robby Krieger, American Seams features the band’s longtime lineup — Paul Givant (vocals, guitar, banjo), Stephen Andrews (upright bass), Zachary Ross (guitar), Jesse Olema (fiddle), and drummers Deacon Marrquin and Matt Lesser. Together, they’ve created a record that bridges the band’s early bluegrass beginnings with a modern, full-bodied Americana sound.
With 20 years of road-tested chemistry, Rose’s Pawn Shop continue to expand their musical reach while staying grounded in the heart of American roots music. American Seams stands as both a reflection of their past and a celebration of the present — proof that the band’s journey, like the seasons they sing about, is still unfolding.
