“After releasing my album Laced earlier this year, I wanted to give fans a more intimate piano version that felt very raw,” says Myles. “I hope people are craving real emotions from real people. These songs were made from heartbreak and pain, we all have these chapters in life and I hope these renditions will connect even deeper. I hope you can hear the more soulful side that shared how vulnerable I had to be to write this season of life out. Not quite ready for love yet because with every lyric I'm learning to trust again.”
Laced: The Piano Sessions features Myles on vocals and Sasha Smith on piano. The EP was produced by Myles and Smith and recorded at Dave's Room Studio in North Hollywood, California. Their minimalist approach places the emotional weight of the songs front and center, allowing each performance to unfold with striking intimacy and honesty.
Released earlier this year, Laced is a powerful collection of 12 songs exploring the complexities of love, loss, self-reflection, connection and finally, empowerment. The album's title track stands as one of its most poignant moments, offering a deeply personal examination of the emotional aftermath of a toxic relationship. Through vivid storytelling and unflinching honesty, Myles captures the push and pull between passion and pain, revealing how easily love can become tangled with heartbreak and regret.
Produced, engineered, and mixed by multi-GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Ross Hogarth and mastered by Richard Dodd, Laced was recorded at Dave's Room Studio, Arlyn Studios, and Treehaus Recording Studio. Myles co-wrote every song on the project alongside an accomplished group of collaborators, including Gary Nichols, Matt Morrisey, David Grissom, Helen Darling, Jeff Cohen, Jeff Trott, Melody Federer, Erik Halbig, Rachel Thibeau, Andrew Rollins, Ethan Hulse, Brian White, Harry Lee Smith, and Michael Higgins.
The release of Laced: The Piano Sessions further cements a landmark year for Myles, who continues to build momentum with her signature blend of soul, country and powerhouse storytelling. Signed to Blue Élan Records, she has earned a reputation for delivering emotionally charged performances that connect deeply with audiences.
The new EP also follows the success of Live at Apogee Studio, her acclaimed live album recorded in a single take and mixed by legendary engineer Bob Clearmountain. Earlier this year, Myles also completed her successful Exclusive First Listen Tour, giving fans an intimate preview of new music in select venues nationwide.
Myles first captured national attention as a Top 3 finalist on NBC's The Voice (Team Camila), earning the fastest four-chair turn in the show's history. Since then, she has performed more than 100 shows annually, made a celebrated debut at the Grand Ole Opry, and received praise from Billboard, CMT, People, Rolling Stone, American Songwriter and many others.
With Laced: The Piano Sessions, Morgan Myles offers listeners her most intimate release yet, a reminder that sometimes the most powerful songs are the ones left beautifully exposed.
