Produced by Colin Devlin and Kirk Pasich at Los Angeles’ legendary Dave’s Room, County Line captures Train at her most fearless and expansive yet. The album features standout players Matt Chamberlain (Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Brandi Carlile) on drums, Paul Bushnell (Tim McGraw, Shakira, Michael Bublé) on bass, and Marty Rifkin (Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty) on pedal steel, with soaring string arrangements by Golden Globe–nominated composer Brian Byrne, performed by the Oklahoma Film Orchestra.

Across 11 tracks, County Line moves from stripped-down confessionals to widescreen anthems, blending stunning originals with bold reinventions — including Train’s haunting take on Cher’s “Believe”, now transformed into a raw and vulnerable ballad; the title track, “County Line,” a meditation on longing and place; and “99 Floors,” is a slow-burning, atmospheric track that explores dissociation, escapism, and the pull of an imagined world over a chaotic reality. And the focus track, the introspective and personal “What Does That Make Me.” Together, they preview an album rich with emotional immediacy and Train’s signature, soul-drenched storytelling.

“Kristina is a multi-talented artist with a sincerity that touches people’s hearts,” says Herbie Hancock, who once invited Train to tour with his band. “Her warmth shines through on every song, and her performances are always a new and beautiful surprise.”

Anthony Mason of CBS News adds: “Kristina Train has exceptional tone and a timeless voice. I look forward to every record she releases.”

“First, you notice her voice: it’s stunning,” says label-mate Aaron Lee Tasjan. “Long after the dust has settled from these trying times, we will still have Kristina Train and this beautiful album she made called County Line.”

County Line is both a reflection on where Train has been and a bold step forward. Raised in Savannah and now based in Nashville, she was the last artist signed by legendary producer Arif Mardin to Blue Note Records, and has since collaborated with everyone from Herbie Hancock to Bruce Springsteen to Dr. Dre. With appearances on the BBC’s Abbey Road Sessions and Later… with Jools Holland, and four critically acclaimed albums — Spilt Milk, Dark Black, Rayon City, and Body Pressure — behind her, County Line cements Train as one of Americana’s most compelling and versatile voices.

With its blend of aching ballads, triumphant grooves, and unflinching honesty, County Line is an album that feels both timeless and urgently of the moment — a soundtrack for navigating the edges of love, loss, and hope.
