Bright, melodic, and effortlessly uplifting, "Get It Right" reveals another side of Merciful, an album that balances reflection with optimism. Built around an easygoing groove and punctuated by vibrant horn arrangements, the song began as a percolating idea from Beckley's archives before finding new life during the making of the record.

"'Get It Right' was one of those songs from the vaults that still really held up," says Beckley. "It felt good to revisit it and finally bring it to life."

Produced by Beckley and longtime collaborator Jeff Larson, Merciful finds the America co-founder looking both backward and forward, revisiting unfinished material while creating some of his most immediate new work in years. Since stepping away from touring in 2023, Beckley has devoted himself to writing and recording, largely from his home studios in Sydney, Australia and Venice, California.

Best known as the voice behind America classics including "Sister Golden Hair," "I Need You," and "Daisy Jane," Beckley continues to explore new creative territory on Merciful. The 13-song collection blends intimate storytelling with the melodic craftsmanship that has defined his songwriting for more than five decades.

Recorded primarily by Beckley himself, Merciful features contributions from bassist Jason Scheff, pianist Nate Strasser, string arranger Matt Combs, guitarists Steve Fekete and Dave Rosser, horn player Nick Lane, saxophonist James Valentine, backing vocalist Jeff Larson, drummers Ryland Steen, Luke Davison, and Brian Young. The album also includes a special guest appearance from Graham Nash on a poignant rendition of the Beatles' "Norwegian Wood."

While songs such as recently released "When The Wells Run Dry" contemplate life's impermanence, "Get It Right" serves as a reminder that hope and joy remain at the heart of Beckley's music. It's a fitting introduction to an album that embraces both the light and the dark with equal honesty.
