Charlotte Dickson releases her debut album, COLLATERAL DAMAGE today, a collection of emotionally direct alternative pop songs about betrayal, attachment, anxiety and the lasting impact of relationships. Dickson writes about the parts of relationships people don't always know how to talk about. Across COLLATERAL DAMAGE, she takes on emotional distance, resentment, lingering love and the difficulty of letting go, drawing from personal experiences to tell stories that feel intimate and relatable.

Rather than settling for straightforward breakup songs, Dickson looks at what happens beneath the surface: the mixed emotions, the unanswered questions and the ways difficult experiences can change how we see ourselves and the people closest to us.

Produced by Denny Fongheiser (Heart, Tracy Chapman, The Rembrandts), the album includes previously released singles “What Once Was Mine,” “Happy For Now,” “Casualty” and “Nervous.” “What Once Was Mine” confronts the realization that someone you loved was emotionally elsewhere all along, while “Happy For Now” explores betrayal and the complicated mix of love, resentment and wanting karma to catch up. “Casualty” follows a relationship that starts like a fairytale before unraveling through silence and emotional repression. On “Nervous,” Dickson examines how struggles with mental health can affect love and connection, turning reassurance into fear and closeness into doubt.

Together, the songs reflect the central idea behind COLLATERAL DAMAGE: the consequences of situations we never intended or chose, and the possibility of making something meaningful from the experience.

Music was always part of Dickson’s life, but songwriting eventually became an outlet and a way to process the moments that shaped her, both good and difficult. Inspired by Lola Young, Ethel Cain and Maggie Lindemann, she brings emotionally driven alternative pop together with unfiltered lyrics and personal storytelling, drawing comparisons to Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo.

“COLLATERAL DAMAGE is a collection of all of the songs I’ve written as proof to me that even unintended destruction leaves a story worth telling,” explains Dickson. “Although the hardest wounds came from battles I never chose to fight, there can be beauty in creating something meaningful out of things that are out of your control.”

With COLLATERAL DAMAGE, Dickson puts those experiences into songs, not to dramatize heartbreak, but to give listeners a place to recognize their own feelings.
