Helping artists take back the music business since 2014

    Blue Élan Records' SXSW Recap

Another year proves another smashing success at SXSW for Blue Élan Records.

We started the night of festivities off at Roka, where Chelsea Williams and Amy Wilcox performed a pop-up style performance at the local sunglasses retailer. Chelsea performed a short set of songs to save her voice for the big showcase later that evening. Amy, on the other hand, kept rattling off the tunes all the way to a crowd-enthused encore, excitedly performing many hit songs off of her new EP, West, which debuted that day. The Vegabonds were in attendance supporting Amy during her set. At Blue Élan it's about the artist. It's about the music. It's about collaboration. And The Vegabonds proved that with their presence at Roka. Several hours later, a capacity crowd filled Lamberts Downtown BBQ to the sounds of Rod Melancon who kicked off the night. Chelsea Williams followed Rod shortly thereafter. The lineup went as followed: -The Rembrandts -Red Wanting Blue -The Vegabonds -Amy Wilcox The Rembrandts captivated the crowd and urged everyone to sing along to one of their biggest hits, "I'll Be There For You." They played a number of their chart-toppers, along with several of their new singles off their brand new album, Via Satellite, which comes out this August. "How Far Would You Go", one of their new singles off the record, comes out tomorrow, March 22. Following The Rembrandts, Red Wanting Blue's energy fired up the crowd once again and reenergized not only the fans but the remaining acts as well. The Vegabonds followed and "Partyin' With Strangers" proved to be a smashing success once again. Amy Wilcox closed the night, and by then, everyone was on the dance floor cutting loose. It was a magical evening at a terrific venue in Lamberts BBQ. Blue Élan's President, Kirk Pasisch, put on a fantastic showcase filled with star-studded performances by all 6 artists. Cheers to a wonderful 2019 SXSW, and many more to come!
