"Redneck Friend" is the first single from Jesse Dayton's forthcoming studio album Mixtape Volume 1, out August 9.

The song was written and originally recorded by Jackson Browne in 1973. Here's what Jesse had to say about the recording: "I loved this song growing up. Although I grew up in a heavy redneck area of Southeast Texas, I knew Jackson was signing about something smarter and bigger than those obvious redneck clichés.
