It was a busy week for our Blue Élan Artists down at SXSW in Austin last week! Our official label showcase on Friday evening was held at Cooper's BBQ. The jam-packed evening featured Chelsea Williams, Rita Coolidge, Janiva Magness, Jesse Dayton, Rod Melancon, and Gina Sicilia. An enthusiastic audience was treated to many new songs by the six artists representing Blue Élan. Billboard and Rolling Stone highlighted parts of our showcase evening with Rolling Stone saying of Coolidge's set, "...the heart of her set belonged to her new album, making it a pleasure to see her engage with the present..." Each of these showcasing artists have new albums, recently release or just on the horizon. Janiva Magness' Love Is An Army was released late last month, while Rita Coolidge's new studio album, Safe In The Arms of Time will be released May 4th.
