Aaron Lee Tasjan releases remixed Single “I Love America Better Than You” Ft. Widespread Panic's Dave Schools just in time for voters to hit the polls

Just in time for the pivotal November elections, acclaimed singer-songwriter Aaron Lee Tasjan releases a newly remixed version of his powerful single “I Love America Better Than You” - out now. The track, which features the unmistakable bass work of Dave Schools from Widespread Panic, comes during a period of intense political and social discourse, providing listeners with a timely anthem as they prepare to make their voices heard at the polls.

Reflecting on the release, Tasjan shared, “Given the current political climate we're facing in this country, the timing feels right for ‘I Love America Better Than You.’ People need these moments of brevity during intense periods of social and political discourse, and that's what we're living through right now. ‘I Love America Better Than You’ is an anthem for this moment in time, and the lyric-forward approach will allow people to make it their own source of inspiration to fight for what they believe in and make their voices heard at the polls in November.”

Tasjan, known for his unique blend of indie rock, Americana, and socially conscious lyrics, brings a raw authenticity to his music. “It’s just me being really honest about my experience growing up and living in this country,” he adds, reinforcing the deeply personal nature of the track.

The remixed single comes from Tasjan's latest album, Stellar Evolution, a collection that speaks to both personal and collective experiences. The songs celebrate love, scathe and protest, claim space, and shine brightly, with Stellar Evolution written against the backdrop of increasing attacks on the LGBTQI+ community in the south. The album was inspired by dark times, including the bathroom and drag bans enacted in Tennessee, as well as the increasingly hostile right-wing rhetoric. For Tasjan, this record is about offering a safe space for the vibrant queer community that has become a home to him.

Stellar Evolution marks Tasjan’s latest sonic and personal growth, with his music gaining the attention of tastemaker press such as Rolling Stone, FLOOD, PAPER, and Paste Magazine. And with bands as well, Wilco, recently recommended Stellar Evolution as one of their favorite albums of the summer! His songs, while deeply personal, have a universal appeal that speaks to his broad fanbase and the inclusive nature of his artistic message.
